Renewal, Expiry and Deletion Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-08-26 · English

This policy explains how your domain is renewed, what happens if it expires, and how we price renewals and restores.

1. Renewal pricing

Registration and renewal prices are shown separately at checkout and in your domain panel. They are frequently different, especially for promotional first-year prices.

Renewal is charged at the price applicable at the time of renewal. We show the current renewal price before the renewal is taken whenever it is reasonably possible.

2. Auto-renew

Auto-renew is a separate setting you control per domain. When it is on, we attempt to charge the payment method on file before the expiry date and confirm by email.

When it is off, the domain expires unless you renew manually before the expiry date.

3. Reminders (gTLDs such as .com)

We send reminders approximately 30 days and 7 days before expiry, and again within 5 days after expiry if the domain has not been renewed or deleted. Reminders are logged against the domain.

4. .ae domains

.ae domains follow the lifecycle set by the .aeDA registry and our registrar, which differs from generic top-level domains. We never apply generic gTLD lifecycle assumptions to .ae.

Where a standing auto-renew instruction is not accepted for .ae, we ask you to reconfirm the renewal policy before renewal is processed.

5. Expiry, grace and redemption

After expiry, a domain may enter a grace period during which it can normally still be renewed at the standard price, followed by a redemption period where a registry restore fee applies on top of the renewal price.

After the redemption period the domain is deleted and released. We publish the exact lifecycle dates for your domain in your panel; we never invent dates.

6. Restore fees

Restore fees are set by the registry and passed on with our standard markup. The fee is shown before you confirm a restore.

BuyADomain.ae is a domain name reseller operated in the UAE under trade licence no. 47033817. Openprovider is ICANN-accredited for generic top-level domains and .aeDA-accredited for .ae domains. BuyADomain.ae is not an ICANN- or .aeDA-accredited registrar.
