What is a .si domain?
.si is Slovenia’s country-code top-level domain, managed by ARNES through Register.si. It is open to applicants worldwide, subject to registry rules, available names and reserved-name restrictions. You do not need to be a Slovenian company to use it for your website or email.
For an AI business, the letters “SI” can also suggest “super intelligence”. That is a branding interpretation—not the official meaning of the extension, an AI certification or proof of a product’s capabilities.

The article reports around 44,000 registrations in September, compared with fewer than 2,000 in August, including 11,000 on 30 September. These are figures reported by the article, not our own measurement; it also notes the registry’s caution against attributing the entire increase to the “super intelligence” terminology shift.

No. It is Slovenia’s country-code domain. Some AI brands interpret SI as super intelligence, but the registry has not reclassified the extension.
